During a break from training, the Expedition 46-47 prime and backup crewmembers toured the Korolev Museum at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan Dec. 10 and listened to museum curators discuss past Russian space memorabilia. From left to right are prime crewmember Tim Kopra of NASA, backup crewmember Takuya Onishi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, prime crewmember Tim Peake of the European Space Agency, backup crewmember Kate Rubins of NASA, prime crewmember Yuri Malenchenko of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) and backup crewmember Anatoly Ivanishin of Roscosmos. At far right is astronaut John Young, who flew on the first flight of Space Shuttle Columbia with Robert Crippen. Young is associate director, Technical, at Johnson Space Center.  From left are Young’s pilot; STS-114 Commander Eileen Collins; Mission Specialists Andrew Thomas, Soichi Noguchi and Stephen Robinson; Pilot James Kelly; and Mission Specialist Charles Camarda. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. -  Workers in the Space Station Processing Facility stand by after opening the hatch on the Italian-built Node 2, a future element of the International Space Station.  Node 2 arrived at KSC June 1.  The second of three Station connecting modules, the module  attaches to the end of the U.S. Lab and provides attach locations for the Japanese laboratory, European laboratory, the Centrifuge Accommodation Module and, later, Multipurpose Logistics Modules. It will provide the primary docking location for the Shuttle when a pressurized mating adapter is attached to Node 2.  Installation of the module will complete  the U.S. Core of the ISS.  Node 2 is the designated payload for mission STS-120.  No orbiter or launch date has been determined yet.Installation of the module will complete  the U.S. Core of the ISS. CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - NASA Kennedy Space Center Director Bob Cabana talks to a crowd of spectators gathered at the Banana Creek Viewing Site near the Saturn V Center at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida to watch the launch of space shuttle Endeavour. The shuttle lifted off on its STS-134 mission to the International Space Station on time at 8:56 a.m. EDT on May 16.    The shuttle and its six-member crew are embarking on a mission to deliver the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer-2 (AMS), Express Logistics Carrier-3, a high-pressure gas tank and additional spare parts for the Dextre robotic helper to the space station. Endeavour's first launch attempt on April 29 was scrubbed because of an issue associated with a faulty power distribution box called the aft load control assembly-2 (ALCA-2).
